Batik is a process of using a resist (usually wax) and pigment to creatively dye fabric.  I offer a twist to this ancient technique by adding watercolor paint onto wax laden paper.  In this class you will learn how to use watercolor, wax, and rice paper to create beautiful batik-style paintings.  This class is suitable for both beginner and experienced painters.  All materials will be provided; you only need to bring your lunch!  The class meets on Saturday, October 17 from 10:30a — 3p.  $50 (m), $55 (nm).  Payment and registration are required for enrollment.  The enrollment deadline is Wednesday, October 7.

Randolph Ramble Roundup

Melissa Womble of Canyon Arts and I had a fabulous time this weekend. We make a great team! We did not have a ton of visitors, but each one who came was special to us and we appreciate the time they gave to visit us very much.   Many thanks to Miss Piper, event assistant extraordinaire and budding artist to boot!

Fall Festival Followup

I had a great time at Fall Festival!  Thanks to all who stopped by to browse and purchase - and of course it's always a pleasure to chat with old friends and make new along the way.

Partnering with Lisa Womble of Canyon Arts was a blast and we are more excited than ever that we will be side by side at my studio in Franklinville for the Randolph Ramble Oct 19-20!

Franklinville Deep River Festival Sept. 7, 10:30 - 5:00

I will be at the Franklinville Deep River Festival this Saturday if you happen to be in the area. It’s at the river park in downtown Franklinville (from Hwy 64  just west of Ramseur turn north on Hwy 22 and go about 1.5 miles).  It's a lovely location, so come join me and enjoy a fine day!
