I had a wonderful weekend at Hickory Mountain Weavery's 1st annual show and sale. The venue was fantastic - the cabins were quaint and cozy, yet super functional. The ambiance was magical.
This cabin was originally the Pluck, NC, post office dating from the late 1880's. It now houses the studio/classroom of artist Emily Thompson, who was kind enough to share her domain with me for this event. She teaches children's art here and made a wonderful display of her students' work on the porch in addition to hanging her own pastel, watercolor, and pen & ink works inside.
It was such fun figuring out creative ways to display my works. I utilized a lot of thrift store finds and was really pleased with how it turned out.
The stone fireplace and log walls created a lovely backdrop for framed pieces:
It was a great two days with lots of visitors and long, artsy chats. I can't wait for the next event here!

I'm a Genius!
I've been racking my brain's little-used left side to pull my blog and Etsy into my Facebook page and connect Etsy and NetworkedBlogs with my blog, and I've finally done it (I think)!
If you've got a minute to wander around, browse the connections. Let me know if you need help getting out of the maze.
